Melbourne based singer/songwriter, Sarah Carnegie, presents a unique musical offering where her voice powerfully conveys the emotions of her lyrics.
Her original works offer variety, from sweet and subtle vocals like Sarah McLachlan to a folky feel like Jewel. A versatile soloist, Sarah’s songs share stories and snippets of life and she sometimes transforms unlikely songs into her own style of acoustic delights.
Over the years, Sarah has opened for artists including Tina Arena, Elvis Costello, Marcia Hines, Jewel (USA), Jason Mraz, Katie Noonan and more. Another of Sarah’s great achievements was providing the soundtrack to a television advertisement for The Humane Society International. Her song ‘Rescue Me’, connected with audiences across Australia and Asia.
In recent years, Sarah has travelled far and wide to perform. From a cattle station deep in The East Kimberley to Fiji, New Zealand and Bali. She has also focused on the songwriting aspect of her talents, teaming up with artists and non-artists to share their stories through song.
Sarah has performed at the Aireys Inlet Music Festival several times but took a couple of years off to become a school teacher. She cannot wait to get back to Aireys in March to be part of this year’s amazing line up. She looks forward to reconnecting with the familiar faces and embracing the festivals new-comers!
