Slimy and The Fishstix

Slimy and the Fishstix are a 4-piece band from Geelong with a punk/garage rock sound. Their music is inspired by a myriad of themes but primarily; politics, surfing and personal experiences are the basis for most of their songs. Their sound is defined largely by the powerful fast riffs of guitarist Oscar Davalga. The group have recently released their debut single, 'Kook City' and are currently working up a set list for gigs in the lead-up to the 2020 Aireys Inlet Open Mic Festival. Slimy and the Fishstix formed in early 2019 with Oscar Davalga (Guitarist) and Dash Corless (Drummer) jamming covers at school. They cycled through singers and bassists settling with Campbell Rusden (Singer) and Kiarah Sikora (Bassist). They are all very close friends and love making music together. Currently, Slimy and the Fishstix are looking to break into the Geelong rock scene and are working on new songs to construct a full set list. There is still much to come from this new band who are excited to share their music with the world! (Slimy and the Fishstix won the “First in the Carpark” prize for their application to play at this years festival. Ed)
